About the YMCANews & EventsVolunteer OppurtunitiesEmploymentHours & Location

WHO ARE WE?

The Kearney Family YMCA has been a part of the community since it opened its store-front operation in 1988. Since that time we’ve provided programs and services to thousands of members and guests.
We're a family-oriented organization committed to putting Christian principles into
practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Our programs emphasize the character traits of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.

We offer a wide variety of programs and services, providing opportunities for adults and children to improve in spirit, mind and body. The Y has fitness classes, swim lessons, and sporting leagues for all ages. Programs are tailored to families, youth, teens and "at-risk" youth. Volunteer and leadership opportunities help make the YMCA an organization dedicated to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

One of the greatest things that separate the Kearney Family YMCA from other organizations is that we are available to everyone, regardless of income. Thousands of individuals have received membership assistance to the YMCA. The YMCA turns no one away due to the inability to pay.

The Kearney Family YMCA opened its own doors in September of 1994.  Currently we serve over 5,000 members and award over $87,000 to individuals and families in need.
We are the only YMCA in the country to offer a free lifetime membership to all residents 80 years and older.  Our YMCA is a self-supported organization and receives no United Way dollars or tax support. The Kearney YMCA has 150 staff members and hundreds of volunteers delivering programs and services to the Kearney area.
